28 AND 29 JULY PHONICS (ADVANCED), STORYTELLING AND READING SESSIONS (WEEK 4)

This week children learn about the polygons. It is all about shapes.
They learned dissimilar types of polygons (flat shapes).
Triangle
Rectangle
Trapezoid
Square
Pentagon
Hexagon
Heptagon
Octagon
In the activity session, each of the have to sketch an object based on the shapes they had learned during the lesson.
In the singing session, they sang “hokey pokey” song. Most of the children are confused with their right and left hand side. But they had a lot of excitement with the song. They sang and played at the same time.

In the story reading session, I gave the children an article “being friend”.
Children have to share about their friend’s story.
In addition, I also gave the other article “television”.  After that, children need to draw a television with the scene on the screen.
Matthew, our cute student, he had sketched a very good picture.
On the screen he has portrayed her daddy and mommy look at the night view together.

In the reading session, children have to read one of the raffles story books, after that I gave them “television” article.
While in the activity session, children have to list down the advantages and disadvantages of television.
Most of them knew that television can be destructive but they did tell me that life would be boring without television.
The world of shapes

Ideas from children, I just wrote it on white board

Matthew said: Daddy and Mommy watch the night view together.

One of our good reader, he's only five year-old
