21 AND 22 APRIL 2012 STORY TELLING AND PHONICS 4 (SESSION 2)

This week, in our phonics lessons, children had learned to write A and B and how to hold pencils in correct ways.

After that, I gave them coloring activity where children had to find out 5 flags in the pictures.

With proper guidance, they able to complete it.

In the storytelling session, I teach them to fold a paper boat in order to test their memory ability.

Some can catch up very well; some still need more guidance and assistance.

It is ok if they cannot cope at the beginning, as long as they never try to give up, sure they can do well.

Facing failure on certain things does not mean you are not good enough; failure is the way to make a person to learn from mistakes, and to strengthen their capabilities as well.

After folding paper boat activity, children had to come out to read a story with feelings.

From the reading activity, I found out that the way they read lack of expressions and they read with flat tones.

But, they tried their best, so next time we will practice more on expressions/ feelings reading.
