Advanced phonics, story reading and reading session (week 4) 22 September and 23 September 2012


In the phonics advanced., the children had learnt about their body part. Each child has to draw a human body on a piece of paper.

After that,  children have to label each part of the body. 

Through this activity, it can enhance their learning ability.

In the art session, I gave children to do “rabbit face”.

Children have to fold the rabbit face and then glued it on a piece of paper.
After that, they have to draw the body based on their creativity.

In the storytelling session, children had learnt about the brain and its function.
They learn about cerebrum, cerebellum and brain stem.

Phonics Beginner (1-10-2012) - Weekends

Title:

Phonics ABC

Objective:

In this lesson, children will learn about “O, P and Q”. After that, the teacher will teach the children about numbers (5 and 6). In the singing session, children will sing “ten little Indian song”.  In the art session, the teacher will give children to do “tree collage”

Phonics Beginner (15-10-2012) - Weekends

Title:

Phonics ABC

Objective:
Before we start our session today, the teacher will give children short revision (A to Q) and (1 to 6). After that, the teacher will teach children alphabets (R, S and T) and numbers (7 and 8). In the singing session, children will learn to sing “skip skip to my Lou” song.




Phonics advanced (1-10-2012)


Title:

Come and see the garden

Objective:

This week, children will learn about “come and see the garden”. Through this topic, children can learn about different insects in the garden. In the singing session, children will learn to sing “ten little Indians” song. In the arts session, children will do “tree collage”

Title:

Transport

Objective:

This week, the children will learn about “transport”.  Through this activity, children can learn different type transports on the road, on the sea and so on. In the rhyme session, I will let them sing “skip to my lou” song. In the game session, I will let them to play “silence games”.


Story Reading Lesson (1October 2012)

Title:

Camera

Objective: 

This week, children will learn about “Camera” article. The teacher will teach them about the function of the camera and its history. After that, children have to read the article on the stage. During activity session, children have to draw the camera and also label the part of the camera. In the singing session, I will guide them to sing “I have a dream song”.


Story Reading Lesson (15 October 2012)

Title:

Bullying

Objective: 

This week, children will learn about “bullying” article. The teacher will explain to them about the topic of bully. In the activity session, children have to role play as a teacher and write few ideas how to reduce bullying in the school. After that, children have to come out to share their ideas among friends.


Reading Lesson- Weekdays/weekends (1 October 2012)

Title:

Transportation

Objective:
  
In this session, the teacher will teach children about “transportation”. The teacher will also explain its history and transformation. In the activity session, children have to list down the transport that they know and the brand itself. In the sharing session, children have to share their answers with friends. In the singing session, the teacher will guide them to sing “I have a dream” song.


Reading Lesson- Weekdays/weekends (15 October 2012)


Title:

School

Objective: 

This week, children will learn about “school”. The teacher will explain to them the function of the school and also the history of the school. In the activity session, children have to list down what do they know and what do school have and provide. In the sharing session, children have to share their ideas with friends.

PHONICS BEGINNER, STORY READING AND READING WEEKEND SESSION (WEEK 3)

This week, the children had learned about family words (Bl and Cl).

Through, this session, we want children to master some easy phonics chunk words.

Besides, word family also a simple and fast way to learn new words and pronunciation.

After that, I gave them a short game to list down all the family word they had mastered.



这星期, 孩子们学了相似拼音(BLCL)。

通过这堂课, 孩子们将学会一些简单的英文拼音。

相似拼音可让孩子们以最简单的方法和技巧来学习新的词汇。

最后, 老师给孩子们小小的游戏来测试他们对这堂课学知多少。


In the storytelling session, the children had learned about the body, they have to learn the specific word part of their body.

After that, I had given them a short spelling in order to assess their understanding and recognition towards new words that they had learned.


在故事阅读的课堂上, 孩子们学了有关身体的部分。

孩子们得认知人体的部位特别名称。

过后, 老师给他们小小的听写, 这是为了确认孩子们的理解能力。



In the reading session, before I started my class, I gave children to learn about word family, this is because; the children have difficulty in pronouncing certain words.

They learned bl and cl and its proper pronunciation.

After that, I gave them “thinking machine” article, they learned about the function of the human brain.

While in the activity session, they have to list down the function of the human brain. 


在上课前, 老师给孩子们学一些简单的相似拼音,这是以为一些小朋友对一些英文生字的发音不是很熟悉。

过后, 老师给孩子们阅读有关“思维机器”的文章。 通过这个文章,孩子们学到有关人脑的功能。

SEPTEMBER 2012 PHONICS ADVANCED, STORY READING AND READING (WEEK TWO)



This week, during phonics advanced sessions, children had learned about “season”- Spring, Summer, autumn, and Winter.

As well, they also learned what special things have happened on these four seasons.

For example, during winter, we do have Christmas, and during the spring season, we do have Chinese New Year and so forth.

On activity session, I gave them to make “masquerade butterfly” .


这星期,孩子们所学的题目是“季节, 包含了, 春,夏,秋,冬。

除此之外,他们也学了有关季节的特别日子, 例如, 冬天我们有圣诞节, 春天有农历新年。

在美术活动中,老师给他们做“蝴蝶式派对面具”



In our storytelling session, the children had learned the article of “dream”. 

Each child has to come out to describe their realistic and unrealistic dream.

Most of the children can’t differentiate what are realistic and unrealistic things.

They did know what is dream, but they do not know how to describe their dreams.

In the sharing session, each of them has to come out share their story and also read the article on the stage.

In the game session, I gave them to play “silent game”. 

One child has to show a gesture and other students need to guess the word they act.

The winner is our cute, Ming Hong.


在故事阅读课里, 他们得学有关“梦”的文章。 每位小朋友需要和朋友们分享他们的真实与不真实的梦。

大多数的孩子不能分辨什么是真实的梦, 再加上, 他们不敢于其他小朋友分享他们的故事。

过后, 孩子们上台说故事, 他们可以将的很好,但是他们的声音太小声了。

在游戏的过程中, 我们给孩子们玩“静默游戏”。他们需要 表演一些动作, 和其他的小朋友得猜他们表演出来的动作。

和我们的优胜者是Ming Hong.




In the reading session, children learned about the skeleton. Each of the has to read the article and remember each part of the skeleton.

After that, I gave them a short spelling.

Well done children, you all did very well in your spelling.

In the game session, I gave them to play “silent game”. 

One child has to show a gesture and other students need to guess the word they act.

在阅读的课堂上,孩子们学关于“人体骨头”。 他们学到了关于人体 骨头不同的名称。

过后,我们给小朋友们小小的听写, 为了让他们学习到新的生字。

在游戏的过程中, 我们给孩子们玩“静默游戏”。他们需要 表演一些动作, 和其他的小朋友得猜他们表演出来的动作。
