LET’S THINK OUT OF THE BOX ( 27 March 2012)

A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. 


Every day he takes the elevator to go down to the ground floor to go to work. 


When he returns he takes the elevator to the 7th floor and walks up the stairs to reach his apartment on the 10th floor. 


He hates walking so why does he do it?

 Clue: on rainy days he goes up in the elevator to the tenth floor.

MARCH 2012 PHONICS AND STORY READING ACTIVITIES (SESSION 3)

This week activities, we have few new cute students.

During phonic activity, I teach them the phonics sound of each alphabet

(I to Q).

With song accompanied them during the session, they learn it very quick.

While in story telling session, I gave them “birthday party” as this week topic.

First, they have to write a story about their birthday party experienced.

Even though, a lot vocabulary they still unfamiliar with but very enthusiasm asking me the words they did not know and try to complete the task given.

After that, they are required to come out to share their story.

With very flat tones, but they speak very loud and clear!

In the second session, they need to draw their “dream birthday party”.

The best thing is even the session had ended, but they insist to finish their drawing and let their parents wait for them. Wow, very hard working.

SPECIAL ACTIVITY OF THE MONTH (HAND CRAFT MAKING CONTEST)

The purpose to conduct this activity is for children to have fun and relax. Besides, it also can enhance their motor function and to stimulate their creativity as well.

We will divide this contest into 3categories

Category A: 4 to 6 years old

Category B:  7 to 9 years old

Category C: 10 to 12 years old

(Each category will have 3 winners)

Date:                     1 April 2012 (Sunday)

MARCH 2012 PHONICS 2 (SESSION 2) ACTIVITIES (12pm TO 1.30 pm)

They both have very good team work, they helped each other to find the answers! 

when children having their meeting... Wow, look like very pro man!!

He only three years old, but already mastered all alphabets! very great!!

For this week session, we have new cute student, Tan Qi Wei

He just three years old, but he able to read simple words, I was very surprised with him.

The other children, they all did quite good, especially Lai Wai Hong, I was so happy

 because he still remembered the ABC songs that I teach him.

MARCH 2012 STORY READING 2 (SESSION ONE) ACTIVITIES (2pm TO 3.30 pm)

Think, think and think...

For this week storytelling activities, we had two different sessions, first is story telling session and second is drawing session.

For storytelling, they were required to tell and share their own birthday experienced.

They did very great.

With very simple stories, they really impressed me.

For the drawing session, I gave “my dream birthday party” as this week topic.

Frankly, I love their work.

I love to let children to draw or colour, through drawing; we may assume children’s inner thought, this is one of the easier ways to understand and construct therapeutics relationship with children.

MARCH 2012 PHONICS 2 (SESSION 1) ACTIVITIES (12pm TO 1.30 pm)

Children very concentrate with their activities.

He (How Wei Shan) was the first one who completed the word search game. 

Mothers helped their kids to complete the word search. 

Cute grandmother also take part to assist her grandsons.

For this week activities, children tried very hard to complete the word search activity.

All of them are very smart; they can complete everything in the given time.

For this lesson, we will divide it into three sessions

Teaching sessions (Singing)

Learn and sing alphabets song

Games session

Match the letters with pictures

(Winners can claim their token)

Sharing Session

Children are required to share and tell their answers.

Time allotment

1 hour and 30 minutes

Story Reading 1(age 7 to 9)

The objective to conduct this lesson is for children to recognize part of body and guide them to have proper pronunciations.

For this lesson, we will divide it into three sessions

Teaching sessions (Singing)

Learn and sing the body song

Games session

Match the flash card with the words given

(Winners can claim their token).

Sharing Session

 Children are required to share and tell their answers.

Time allotment

1 hour and 30 minutes

Phonics 2 (4 to 6)

For this lesson, I will guide children to recognize words (alphabets I to Q) and the phonics sound of each letters.

For this lesson, we will divide it into three sessions

Teaching sessions (Singing)

I will teach them to sing phonics song (I to Q) and provide them examples as well.

Games session

I will give them different set of printed word search activities; they need to find words (Apple, Ball, Juice, and Cat) in the paper within given time each.

(Winners will be rewarded a token)

Sharing Session

After the game session, they need to come one by one to share and show their findings.

Time Allotment

1 hour and 30 minutes

Story Reading 2 (7 to 9)

My objective to conduct this lesson is for children to know each other well. They are required to tell their birth date and their birthday party’s experienced.

For this lesson, we will divide it into three sessions

Interact session/ singing session

In this session; children are required to tell about birthday experienced.

Games session

I will split them into few groups and give them printed maze games.

Sharing session

After completed the games session, children need to draw their own dream birthday party.

(Children who can come out with creative ideas will be rewarded.)
